Hello and thank you for visiting our website. My name is Elisa Niles Thorne and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the U. S. Virgin Islands. I am excited to embark upon this journey to wellness and healing with you. A little about me... I hail from the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. I also grew up in Jamaica and Antigua. I am an Island Woman and bring a cultural diversity to my counseling practice that is unique and honoring of each client I see. Education PhD. -Counselor Education and Supervision, Walden University, 2019 M.A.- Mental Health Counseling, Argosy University, 2009 M.A. Ed.- Education with a concentration in Guidance and Counseling, 2005 B. A.- Psychology, University of the Virgin Islands, 2002 Certifications Board Certified Counselor-National Board of Certified Counselors Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor Registered Play Therapist Supervisor Prepare-Enrich Facilitator Experience I have over 20+ years in the counseling field. I have worked both in private and government agencies. I have worked with a diverse clientele, ranging from children to seniors. Specialty Areas I treat a variety of mental health issues such as depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, disordered eating, childhood disorders, relationship/marital issues to name a few. I also specialize in Trauma/PTSD/C-PTSD, Play Therapy, Dissociative Disorder, Women's Issues, and Parent Training.
